The grade II listed 1 Lombard Street is a stunning setting in the heart of the City featuring modern European food. A neo-classical interior of domed skylights by Pietro Agostini and plush curving banquettes. The (mainly) corporate clientele appreciate the refined, animated atmosphere. Feeling a little fatigued in the morning? Treat yourself to a big breakfast basking under the natural light of the dome. A full a la carte menu and seasonal specialities are available for lunch and dinner. Otherwise, there's a tapas and bar snack menu to choose from. Great cocktails, fine wines and superb service to boot.

1 Lombard Street - on the 5-course offer - not bad but a little soul-less - who says the credit crunch has no bite even at 1998 prices. Facade a little tired and lots of stuff just lying around the back of the bar area does not help that either. Food fine - as one would expect.

1 Lombard Street has pleasant decor & furnishing & the food is of a very good standard but not really the standard you would expect of a Michelin Starred establishment. The staff, whilst not overly friendly are fairly professional.

1 Lombard street - Very nice food, good servcie, surprisingly not very busy at all even though it was a tuesday I expeceted to see more tables full. For £45 the taster menu of 9 courses is pretty good value and had a nice selection of wines to accompany.

The degustation menu at 1 - Lombard Street was lovely. Food was delicious but the 9 courses were perfectly manageable given the small size. The atmosphere is formal and the dinning room very quiet even on a Friday night.

Had the 9 course degustation menu and it was brilliant! The dishes were well balanced and the taste was scrumptious. Service was good for a friday night, attentive but not intrusive. The ambience was rather featureless compared to the brassiere but the food more than compensated. A must for anyone looking for a michelin star meal on a budget.

The restaurant was unusually queit, but that made it all the better us. The service was excellent. We had the degustation menu and the food was excellent especially the haddock with quail eggs and the angus beef. the courses are small, but excellently presented. My wife is a foodie and I am not, but we both appreciated why it had a Michelin star.

1 Lombard Street had a great degustation menu of very nice food; in the right sized portions (small; but there are 9 courses!). Even though the menu said it was unchangeable they were very helpful towards tweaking it to suit my pregnancy; swappping out scallops, foie gras etc. Staff were very friendly; generally a bit quiet but very nice for a special occasion.

1 Lombard street - nice food even though portions are small but OK for the 9 course degustation menu and a small appetite like mine! Lamb was not tasty enough and beef too cooked to my taste. Restaurant is nice decor and quieter compared to the brasserie but both very pleasant. Enjoyed the experience very much overall!

Loved the food and good value for money for the class of restaurant. The only problem was, as expected, that this is a business lunch restaurant, albeit a very good one, so there was a hushed atmosphere with few tables occupied. However, the food particularly the roast suckling pig was fantastic value and we hope that the restaurant succeeds in gaining more of an evening trade in the future - that would address the concerns.
